Me Being Me and a Lovely Weekend

This weekend was full of excitement...a new nephew, hanging with the family, running and eating it on a gravel path, cleaning wounds, holding my new nephew, keeping my nephew's older brother entertained, drinking lots of coffee, spending time with jenny (my twin sister), some shopping, (which is good because i dont shop much), making my voice hoarse after hours of singing while driving and loving the millions of bluebonnets blanketing the Texas roadside.

Now i am chilling at a coffee shop, updating my blog before i go to a neighbor's baby shower. i am thankful now to "rest" while in anticipation for the next event. This is a good break in planned activity even though, at the moment, there is a continue flow of life happening around me. i am an extravert and therefore find life from my environments.

Wish i had more time to write but as the saying goes, "time flies when your having fun". i'll write more later but maybe not at a coffee shop since i always feel like i need to buy something when i use the space...and honestly, i should, they are doing me a favor in providing a place for me to enjoy being me. i guess i might just have to be myself at home tonight...maybe maari (my roommate) can be my barista tonight. she is such a servant like that. a wonderful woman really!

so close yet so far...

sometimes our hearts get so involved in OUR story of life that God's story of LIFE fades to a memory and everything seems hopeless. Lord help me return to what is TRUE, BEST and FOR YOU...not me! Restore my HOPE. I want to live in YOUR story!

This is how it is with me right now. I am trying to separate fantasy from truth and this is tough. Kind of like gum in your hair. But it's not impossible to separate because God is with me, helping me. He never lets me go. Nothing can separate me from His love. He always has His eyes on me though i get distracted. He is worth all of me.

Prune me Lord. (this is a big prayer) Sustain me through the pain of releasing selfish desires only to be filled with satisfying desires that are full of Your truth, Your love, Your hope and for Your eternal glory.

A Day of Rest

A day of REST! ...well, and cleaning/organizing/riding my bike/voice practices/washing cars/eating at some point and watching Slumdog Millionaire. So, i guess i could say it's more of a day of doing things i want to do and have been meaning to do and since there is no time frame to most of these, i just get to go with the flow and i like to flow. You know what i mean?

This morning i was learning about HEAVEN, God's throne, the angels/heavenly hosts who serve the Lord day and night, and the MEETING PLACE/The Holy of Holies, where God tells Moses in Exodus 25:22, "There, above the cover between the two cherubim(angels) that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you."

Imagining what this is like is overwhelmingly sweet but hard to imagine because what God has done on Earth is only a shadow of what is in Heaven. Think about it...a person's shadow for instance...a black blob with no features, only a vague outline on the ground. yet there is so much more to the actual person...features, color, personality, a voice, etc...

There is more to the story but i am still thinking about the LOVING God that we get to serve and, well, i'm silent and in love....

1st Row 50 Yard Line...That's what I'm talking about!

So, I am going to the ZZ Top - Houston Livestock and Rodeo - Concert this Sunday and will be sitting on the 1st row, 50 yard line with my sister Jenny, her boyfriend nate and my roommate Maari! I would say that life can't get much better than this but really it can and it will because Jesus is coming back! BUT seriously, this is amazing, inexpressibly cool and now i am at a loss of what to wear. I mean, it's not like i go to the Rodeo every weekend and though i live in Texas it doesn't mean i own a pair of boots. i think jeans and t-shirt would work but having tickets like that, i wonder if they would be suspicious of me considering my dress vs. the value of the seats. hmmm... if you have any thoughts, let me know.

ha! as a side note, i am not even sure if anyone will ever read this blog. i dont even know who i am really talking to other than myself. and, i am okay with that. i told my roommate i would start one of these because it was on my mind to do it and good intentions don't mean anything unless actions are involved. So maybe this will make an impact on a few hearts, one being mine, and that is good. i hope to positively influence the lives of others by being myself in this small virtual space.

Something i learned as i prayer walked the streets of my neighborhood this morning: "Don't forget about the unseen world which coincides with what you are seeing right now." Distractions keep me from understanding that God is here, He is moving, He has these families in these houses in mind, He loves Austin, though i see pain He is lavishing His love... keep holding on to a HOPE for Austin, and keep praying, dont get discouraged... He hears me and He is answering. Today is a good day because it's new and God is in it. i choose to believe that God is good, all the time no matter how shattered i feel at moments. He is good.

I have found friends with this same heart and we are praying together on Monday nights. Times like these satisfy my soul like no other moment apart from God. If you don't know God, you may not understand this but I sure hope that one day you discover that God loves you, He has always loved you and will always love you. I hope it's today.

What "REBANDLE PANTS" Stands For...

My roomate Maari was so kind to give me the nickname "Rebandle" one evening as we sat at our kitchen table talking, telling stories and having dinner. Somehow we got into nicknames and from my full name, Rebecca Anne Windle, Maari extracted Rebandle. I tried giving her one but Maarante never stuck.

The "Pants" part of the story comes from the fact that I am a twin and while in college I had a friend who could pull the most random things out of his brain, yet somehow make sense of it in a weird way. He told my sister and I that we are like a pair of pants. We look alike, we do the same things, we are from the same family yet we are two different people. He then said, "So i am going to call you two Windle Pants." And that was OUR name for the two remaining years we had in college, 2002-2003.

Note to Maari: I hope this puts a huge smile on your face. You totally win! :)
